About Karen


Shortly after her father died and her brother had a cancer scare, Karen reassessed her own life.  After practicing law for over ten years, she closed her estate planning practice and in 2007 created PowerPlan Inc. 


Karen's education includes a Ph.D. in Linguistics from U.C. Berkeley and a J.D. from Stanford Law School.  Before opening an estate planning practice, she served as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice.  Her experiences in academia and the legal world form a solid foundation of practical analysis and strategic action.  Karen augmented her professional background with training specifically for PowerPlan. She completed EVOKE training as a Life Planner with the Kinder Institute and has a certificate in Spiritual Guidance Mentorship from Atlantic University.
